The research interests of Dr. Maaita are mainly but not exhaustively in area of Nonlinear dynamics, mechanical and electrical oscillations, hidden attractors, dynamical systems theory, bifurcation theory, Hamiltonian mechanics, energy transfer in nonlinear oscillators, non-smooth dynamics, system identification and reduced-order modeling, nonlinear electronic circuits, chaotic behavior, complex systems, computational physics.
