Biography:
Dr. Mehmet Yavuz is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Necmettin Erbakan University, Türkiye. He received his BSc in Mathematics from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in 2009 and earned both MSc (2012) and PhD (2016) degrees in Applied Mathematics from Balıkesir University. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Mathematics, University of Exeter, UK, during 2019–2020. Prof. Yavuz's research spans a wide range of topics in applied and theoretical mathematics, including biomathematics, infectious disease and population dynamics, stochastic analysis, calcium signaling, fractional-order systems, bifurcation theory, and dynamical control. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, 70 conference papers, 6 books, and 12 book chapters in international volumes. In recognition of his contributions, Prof. Yavuz has received multiple national and international awards, including two gold medals for international research collaboration and three awards for scientific productivity in science and engineering disciplines. Since 2021, he has been listed among the world’s top 2% of most-cited scientists, based on metrics such as citations and h-index, in global rankings compiled by Elsevier and Scopus in collaboration with Stanford University. Beyond his scholarly output, he plays an active editorial role in the academic community. Apart from being an Associate Editor in several reputed journals, guest editor for more than 50 Special Issues, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the journals “Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications (ISSN: 2791-8564)”, “Bulletin of Biomathematics (ISSN: 2980-1869)” and “Mathematical Modelling for Sustainable Engineering (ISSN: 3104-9877). He is also the chairman of the International Conference on Mathematics and Applied Data Science (ICMADS).
